We have planned a family cook out for the Webelos den.
Date: Tuesday, May 25th
Time: 6:30 pm
Location: North Cary Park
The pack is providing hotdogs, buns and condiments. Each family will need to bring a side dish to share. Please RSVP to this email to confirm whether you will be attending and what you will be bringing.
Al has planned on having the boys work on their sportsman pin after dinner. We forward to seeing everyone at the park!
Tonight we will have the Morrisville Fire Department finish up the Readyman requirement. We will work on first aid and have CPR dummies to teach the boys.
Note the information below regarding the Troop and a meeting about their summer camp information, medical forms, etc. If your son has bridged into this Troop, I encourage you to attend as there is still time for them to join the Troop at camp and help your son get well down the road to earning his Eagle. Camp is a great way for them to earn a number of merit badges in a short time.
If you have any questions about it, you can email me directly or if you can’t attend, but are interested in your boy going to camp with the Troop, let me know as I’ll be there on Tuesday night.
Just a note, as of this Tuesday night (even though the Webelos II will be racing in the Pinewood Derby with us), they should be attending their new Troop selection. There will not be a meeting of the Webelos II this Tuesday night and there will not be a Webelos II den with Pack 393 until we bridge up the Webelos I in May.
Hey everyone,
I have confirmed our February camping trip for Carver Falls. It is a beautiful property with waterfalls that you can hear while you’re camping! It has lots of great hiking also. It is a private property that only boy scouts can use. There is electricity and running water at the mill house and porta johns for our use. The camping trip is set for the weekend of February 27th. The cost is $10 a person. The location is in Cumberland County just south of Fayetteville. I will need someone to meet the person in charge to give us a key to the mill house at 4:00 PM on that Friday. Let me know if you would be available.
Thanks and let me know if you have any questions.
It was great to see several new faces at the meeting tonight. As discussed with everyone tonight, we need to have a meeting next Thursday for those boys who are going on the Campout October 23-25. During next week’s meeting we will organize all of the boys who are going into their dens for the event (mixing all of the dens together). Once we do that, the dens will work on a den name and decorate a flag for the dens for the Chuck Wagon Derby and then begin work on their Chuck Wagons. We will meet again from 6:45 until 8:00 or so to get as much as we can done and then we will work on finishing them up the following Thursday, October 22. We just didn’t feel we’d have enough time to work on them the day before having to go out to the campout event.
I do need one parent volunteer to coordinate getting the food for the weekend. The Pack will provide breakfast on Saturday and Sunday morning and dinner on Saturday night. Everyone will be on their own for dinner on Friday night and are asked to pack a bag lunch for Saturday afternoon “on the trail”.
Also, with all of the new faces and several new leaders of dens, I am looking to schedule a parent meeting in early November to try to fill out some roles that we need to get coordinated and put people in charge of, so be looking for details on that for early November.
Kelly Coman and I have collaborated to coordinate a Den meeting tomorrow night for both dens. We will work to achieve the “Aquatic Activity” badge. The activity will take place at the “Cary Park Club Pool” located at the following address:
Cary Park Club Pool
5353 Cary Glen Blvd
Cary, NC 27519
We’ll meet at the parking lot of the pool at 6:45PM. The Repage and Taylor families are members of the Cary Park Pool. The Webelos I & II Den’s will be the guest of the Repage and Taylor families.
You can also visit their website for directions - www.trianglechurch.org
We will be in the pavillion which is at the back of the property.
Please bring both your Webelos neckerchief and hat and his new Boy Scout neckerchief and hat if he has already been given the new ones. He can wear the Webelos items to the ceremony. Do not worry if his badges have already been stripped.
Please arrive no later than 6:15!
Please bring your son’s Arrow plaques as well. Place them on the table at the front of the ceremony.
Please come a few minutes early (6:10) if you still need to give Wendy some items.
In the event of rain, we will still be in our outdoor pavilion.
