All,
One more thing on the Yorktown Trip, we will need to meet and leave from the Church building in Morrisville no later than 11 a.m. on the morning of the 9th in order to make sure that we get to our boarding point by 5 p.m.
(MapQuest says the trip will take about 4 hours and 45 minutes without stopping, so I’m figuring it will take us at least 5 to 5:30 minutes with a stop or two for a meal and rest-stops).
Thus, you will need to be making plans for your kids to get off from school. Should be an excused absence given the historical nature of the trip (Yorktown and Ft. Sumter).

All,
There is a Troop and Pack Committee meeting this coming Thursday, December 1 at 7 p.m. We will be discussing several things, including the Yorktown trip and Troop and Pack Rechartering in December. Given that we only have one Pack meeting in December, it will be important for everyone who can to come to this meeting.
So every parent of a kid who has signed up for this event needs to attend to coordinate plans for the trip down and when and where to meet that Friday night so that we can get onto the ship as a group. I’m working on scheduling a Charleston Ghost tour on Saturday evening, but this is going to be an extra cost, so you can let me know at the meeting if you will be able and want to attend. I hope to have more details on the cost that night.
In addition, we need to discuss plans for additional roles on the Troop and Pack Committee and as we recharter, I need to know who in the Pack would like to/be interested in stepping in as Cubmaster. There will be some training required to fulfill this role and we need someone willing to commit to this in order to recharter the Pack (i.e. before the end of December). I’m not sure when the training will be given again, so hopefully the District will let us recharter with a Cubmaster who has not been fully trained yet. We’ll see.
Thanks everyone and let me know if there are any additional agenda items that we need to discuss.
See everyone on Thursday at 7 p.m. at the church building.
Sorry about the confusion in getting everyone their popcorn tonight. I was at the Fire Station with the Webelos II completing the Readyman pin. The spreadsheet didn’t give the correct orders for some reason, so please be sure to confirm your orders with the actual order forms. If yours are incorrect (we tried to verify them with the official order form as much as possible), please get in touch with Kathy Pitney. If you didn’t pick your order up tonight, you can also contact Kathy schedule a pick-up this weekend at her house in Morrisville.
Thanks everyone. We do not have another official meeting in November due to the Thanksgiving holiday, so I want to wish everyone a safe and fun Thanksgiving. We will have a Parent meeting for all of the folks going on the Yorktown trip the first Tuesday in December (which is the Tuesday before our trip - It will be here before we know it).
Just a reminder that I have everyone’s order (with the exception of those with Sweet and Savory packages - we had 5 of those) and your popcorn will be at the meeting to pick up. Please plan to come and get your order for delivery tonight.
If you can’t make it, the Pitney’s have agreed to be available Saturday for pick-up (I won’t be at my house due to a competition that I’m involved with), but it would be best to get it from the meeting tonight.
Hope you are well and are excited about the upcoming trip to the Yorktown.
Just a couple of reminders:
The next meeting is when we will be turning in our popcorn. I would like to do this by den starting with the Tigers. As mentioned before, if you have collected cash in making your sales, we need each parent to deposit the cash and write a check for the cash that your scout has before the meeting on Tuesday, Oct. 25. This is important for the folks who will be collecting it to only have checks and not have cash involved. Thanks for your help with this. Kathy Pitney and I will be coordinating with each den throughout the meeting to get the money turned in. We’ll start with the Tigers and work our way up to the Webelos II. I know that the Webelos I have been meeting on a different night at Neil’s house, but for this turn in we will need any of the Webelos I who sold popcorn to come to the meeting on Tuesday to turn it in.
Also, it has been several months since we have had a Pack meeting to award the patches and belt loops and rank advancements for the boys and I would like to do one on the first Tuesday in November (Nov. 1, the week after we turn in Popcorn). We have several new scouts who have joined and this is a great opportunity for them to get awarded their Bobcat badge, which they need to earn first anyway, and get them started on their path to their den-specific badge. So, at the next meeting on Oct. 25, please make sure that you bring your handbooks and get your achievements signed off by your den leader and let them know what awards are needed for your son. Leaders, if you can tally that and make sure that we get ready for the Pack meeting on Nov. 1. We will plan to hold it in the fellowship hall at the church building from 7-8 p.m. that night.
