Jordan Lake Camping Trip – April 24-26

Friday, April 10th, 2009

Pack,

We won’t be eating bugs and you won’t be voting anyone out of the campsite, but we will be going camping April 24-26 at Parker’s Creek out at the Jordan Lake campgrounds. The plan is to arrive before 8 p.m. (when the gates are locked) and set-up camp, settle in and have some S’mores before hitting the hay.

The next morning, breakfast will be provided by the Pack and cooked by members of the older dens (with some help).

10 – Noon – The Den’s will be split into competitive teams from among those in attendance and some friendly competition on Cub Scout skills will ensue.
Noon – 1:30 – Lunch
1:30 – 3:30 – A continuation of the friendly competition
3:30 – 5:30 – The friendly competition will end with a parent/son fishing tournament. In this catch and release tourney, the members of the teams will be able to score points for each fish they catch. May the best angler win.
5:30 – 7:30 – We’ll be putting together some Hobo meals and cooking our dinner before stoking the fire for our own Tribal Council and evening campfire, where there will be more S’mores, skits, songs and fun. Oh, and we’ll name a team victor and award some prizes before packing it in for the night.

Sunday morning will bring a light breakfast, a short devotional and leave for home.

Families and siblings are welcome to attend, but we need you to RSVP to me by April 17 so that we are able to know the amount of food to purchase. While we have been flexible with our response time to emails in the past, it only takes a few seconds to check you schedule and respond with who and how many are attending once you read the email. Please respond by April 17 so that we can “be prepared.”

Have a great weekend and we’ll see you all on Thursday evening.

Randy

The Durham Bulls will be hosting their annual “Scout Night” on Friday, June 6th.  As many of you know, this is a very fun night for the boys.  We start off with a Scout Parade followed by the game, fireworks, a movie on the big screen, and the sleepover.

There are 2 ticket levels:
Game only:  $8.00
Sleepover:  $18.00 (includes game ticket, dinner and breakfast vouchers, access to field for sleepover)

No Spike Tents on Field
I have 98 tickets reserved for the pack and troop available on a first come basis.  Please RSVP to me the number of each type of ticket you would like.  If you have a boy in the pack and troop, email names as well so that they are not counted twice.  Tickets are non-refundable and Juan has offered to help collect the money for the event.  I need a definite count ASAP!

Make checks payable to Pack 393.
